What is it?? Is it Body weight? Is it Body Tone? Skin colour?
I think more and more now we are being lead to believe the perfect body exists and we’re being conned by stunning celebrities and clever photoshopping!
There are huge amounts of con and fad diets out there which no doubt are clogging up your Facebook newsfeed just as much as they do mine! I’ve tried meal replacements and I think they can work but only along side a balanced and healthy diet and exercise! I’m not a fan of drink 3 shakes and some gel for a week, and ta dah look at your weight loss! Well yeah *duh* you’ve had the bare minimum calorie intake for a week, OBVIOUSLY you’ve lost weight, and now as soon as you start taking in normal calories your body will store it as fat because it thinks you went through a period of starvation! and BREATHE! I did warn you I wasn’t a fan!!!
As women I think we can all relate to our changing body shapes, i’m lucky that i’m naturally quite slim, but that doesn’t mean i’m always happy with how my body looks! My weight has fluctuated quite a lot and at times I’ve ended up too skinny! *inserts terrible old pictures!*
But I’ve also gone the other way and carried around more weight than I should!
Now I’m at a point with my body and I guess in my life where I’m conscious of the fact that youth will not just spring it back into place and I need to start looking after my body!
Welcome to my life – EXERCISE!!
I don’t want to be a body builder or anything like that – nothing against it, it’s just not my cuppa tea! but I do want to be more toned and stronger! I’d like to think I’m a strong independant woman *insert sassy finger clicks* but when it comes to heavy lifting…welllll that’s a perk of living with an athlete!
So its time to make a change and alongside Amy we have created #FITBLOGGERSSQUAD. A space where together, as a blogger family, we can encourage, empower and help each other to achieve the goals we want!
We all have parts of our body we don’t like or simply want to improve! Mine are: Tummy, love handles and inner thighs. If I could wave a magic wand, I would, but unless you’ve got a fairy godmother ( if you do – can I borrow? ) then like me it’s exercise, exercise, exercise. Below are my before pictures – this is me right now. I literally took these yesterday so you can see me. stripped back in all my *ahem* glory?!
So my plan is this – lets talk about our workouts, whether its that you managed to grab 10mins to go for a brisk walk, or you completed an exercise DVD, or even made it to the gym *you go glen coco!* Lets encourage each other to swap that chocolate pudding for strawberries and yoghurt or that McDonalds’ for chicken and veg!
Would you like to see a recipes post? different workouts?
Let us know and together lets create a #FITBLOGGERSSQUAD empire of strong, independent women!
