A Little Taste Of Winter

I’m bacccckkkkkkkkkkkkkkk!!! It’s been a while hasn’t it! I blame sky…in fact we should all blame sky. I moved house on the 1st October and they’ve JUST connected the wifi?!! Seriously unimpressed but apparently it doesn’t matter how many times I complained I just had to wait. Have you ever found a patient girl?! Pfft

Anyway waaaaay back at the beginning of October I went for a little jolly day to Derby! We all know that October starts the beginning of winter…well probably not officially but boots have their Christmas gift guide out so it’s as good as!!

Winter is – pumpkin spiced lattes ( I’ve actually never tried one of these..I know I know, I’m a huge fraud but just nah!) chunky knits, ankle boots ( not the fake ugg kind that primark produce that make every girl look like she’s forgotten how to walk) and nice dark lipstick…girls it’s time to get out the old fail safe…Rimmel 107!

So anyway…Derby! The gorgeous bunch at Intu Derby invited me to come and see their fabulous AW16 lines and I couldn’t wait! I love seeing all the new trends and figuring out the key pieces to invest in! I’d love to go to London Fashion Week but i’m not sure my bank balance could cope, so Derby and its high street brands will do for now!

We were lucky enough to have our own seating area, roped off with a little red carpet! We were provided with a drink from Patisserie Valerie and a muffin from BB’s….let’s be honest, its winter….nobody says no to cake in winter!!!

The catwalk was made up of both models and dancers which added a real twist to the show and if i’m honest probably made it more entertaining for the shoppers!!!

The models wore a collection of different designers, mainly all highstreet and affordable to all.

For me two of the brands that surprised me the most were Phase Eight and Oasis! I’ve never really shopped in either so they were brands I wasn’t really expecting to be bothered by. HOW WRONG WAS I.

I actually popped into Oasis before I left to lust over their AW lines…Roll on payday, I feel my wardrobe needs more colour! I love that burgundy is in for winter this year, it’s probably my favourite winter colour to wear and I feel It’s really timeless.

Upstairs they had a beauty pod – they were offering a mini masterclass/make over from professional make up artists. This was simply music to my ears!! I LOVE make up but just can’t do my own!

Now i know i’m like 10 years late to the party but I CANNOT CONTOUR!!!!!!!!! I don’t get it, It confuses me. I want Kimmy K cheek bones but can I make it work? nahhhhhhh!

Excuse the bad skin and close up but this was a full on master class!

I was really lucky to get to meet the super super talented Helen Ainsworth you can find her on Twitter  She’s rubbed shoulders with the celebs, but she’s just a really down to earth, gorgeous girl! She was VERY patient with all my questions and made me look  a million dollars!!! Girls if you’re look for a MUA…give this girl a shout 🙂

The other bag was from the guys at Derby Intu – They provided us with a cheeky free parking ticket (yay for free parking) The guys from boots supplied us with some Clarins, Dior, No7 and bumble and bumble miniatures, which I cannot wait to try! Some gorgeous perfume samples from The perfume shop. A GORGEOUS notebook from the lovely guys and girls at Paperchase and a ton of other lovely goodies!!

As always I had the best time with Intu..I’m SO sorry it’s so late going up!
